Rain, rain, come and stay...

If you've been following your News Of the Weird lately, you'll know that Seattle is in its 26th straight day of rain! And I don't just mean the ubiquitous light mist that somewhat unjustly contributes to the legend of the Seattle climate, but actual, streaming, blowing, jacket-drenching, latte-spoiling drops. While this frankly causes me no undue personal consternation (fitting as it does with my outsider's stereotypical understanding of the place), it turns out that such a streak is in reality rather unusual; the record is 32 days in 1953, and the locals are counting down with anticipation toward day 33.
