RIP Dr. Ladefoged

Peter Ladefoged has passed away! It was in London three days ago, on his way back from doing fieldwork in India. He was 80yrs old.

For those who aren't familiar with the name, Dr. Ladefoged was a linguistics professor at UCLA, and a very influential figure in phonetics and phonology (my phonetics textbook is his). There's a memorial page on his website.
